Position Title
Staff Member
Department & Position: Aggie Compass / Direct Food Programs Coordinator
Years at UC Davis: 10 years
Why I chose to work on COSAF: I chose to serve on COSAF because I believe in showing up for my community and ensuring people feel heard. Much of my career has focused on service, supporting students, and bringing people together, so this felt like a meaningful way to give back to our UC Davis community. I also appreciate the chance to learn from students and staff across UC Davis, hear diverse perspectives, and help strengthen the connection with the larger campus community. For me, serving on COSAF means helping shape a UC Davis where everyone continues to feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
Extracurricular hobbies/interests/activities: Outside of work, I’m a Dad, chef, builder, gardener, shepherd, storyteller, and lifelong collector of experiences. I love exploring food cultures, experimenting in the kitchen, working on home and garden projects, and finding any excuse to gather people around a table. My roots have also shaped my love of food, tradition, and hospitality, and I enjoy keeping those traditions alive while creating new ones with my family. I’m happiest when I’m making something with my hands, learning something new, serving my community, or heading off on an adventure with my wife and kids. Life is more interesting when there’s good food, good people, and a story to bring home.
